The Origin of Our Diamonds

Our Diamonds – Responsibly Sourced from Canada
At aloé, we believe that true value lies not only in beauty but also in origin and responsibility. That’s why we use only natural diamonds from Canada – from the largest solitaires to the finest pavé stones.
Canadian diamonds are among the most transparent and responsibly sourced in the world today. They come from the renowned Diavik and Ekati mines located in the Northwest Territories, near the Arctic Circle. These mines are known for their strict environmental regulations, respect for Indigenous communities, and the highest ethical standards.
Why Canadian Diamonds?
- Strict Environmental Regulations: Each mine must undergo thorough environmental assessments. Mining is only permitted with detailed plans for land restoration and protection of the fragile Arctic ecosystems.
- Protecting Water and Nature: Innovative water management systems ensure that no pollutants enter the region’s sensitive lakes and rivers. Local flora and fauna are continuously monitored.
- Partnerships with First Nations: The mines work closely with Indigenous communities, respecting their lands and creating long-term economic opportunities — from employment to education programs.
- Responsibility for Tomorrow: Once mining operations end, the land is restored and monitored ecologically for years to come to ensure full rehabilitation.
- Certified Standards: Our diamonds come exclusively from mines operated by members of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), ensuring they meet the highest ethical and sustainable standards.
For us, this means that every single diamond – whether large or small – tells a story not just of beauty and brilliance, but also of transparency, ethics, and respect for people and nature.
To us, natural Canadian diamonds embody the lasting value, authenticity, and meaning that make jewelry true companions for life.
